Posted : 09 March 2026

Ogbomoso United Football Club has announced the appointment of Stephen Adetunji as the new General Manager, a strategic move aimed at strengthening the club’s administrative structure ahead of the forthcoming football season.

The decision forms part of the club’s broader plan to enhance professionalism within its management and build a competitive team capable of achieving its sporting ambitions.

The announcement was made by the club’s Chairman, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, during a meeting with members of the management and technical crew. While addressing the gathering, the chairman emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and commitment among officials and players as the team prepares for upcoming competitions.

He also urged the technical crew and management staff to remain focused and work tirelessly to ensure the club is adequately prepared for the challenges ahead. Bashorun Akinwole was commended for his consistent efforts and dedication toward the growth and stability of the club.

Under his leadership, Ogbomoso United has continued to strengthen its organisational structure while laying a solid foundation for long-term football development in the region. His vision includes building a sustainable football project that will not only compete effectively but also nurture young talents and contribute to the growth of grassroots football.

With the new season fast approaching, Ogbomoso United will compete in the Nationwide League One (NLO) next month, aiming to secure promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL). The management believes that with improved organisation, quality players, and proper preparation, the team is well-positioned to challenge for one of the coveted promotion spots.

As part of preparations for the campaign, the team has already commenced its pre-season programme, engaging in a series of friendly matches to improve match fitness, team cohesion, and tactical sharpness. The technical crew, led by Head Coach Jimoh Adua and assisted by Ibikunle Abidemi Caleb, has been working closely with the players to ensure the squad is fully ready for the demanding NLO season.

Before his elevation to General Manager, Stephen Adetunji served the club diligently as Media Director and Secretary, roles in which he played a significant part in the club’s administration, communication, and organisational activities. His wealth of experience is expected to provide additional stability and support for the technical team as Ogbomoso United intensifies its preparations.

Meanwhile, the club has also disclosed that it will unveil its new kits for the upcoming season in the coming days, a development expected to further energise supporters as the team prepares for a fresh campaign. With renewed leadership, structured preparation, and clear ambitions, Ogbomoso United remains determined to make a strong impact in the Nationwide League One and push for promotion to the Nigeria National League.
