NPFL Youth Team Defeats Gateway United FC

The NPFL Youth Team defeated Gateway United FC 1–0 in a friendly match.

It was another triumphant outing for the Coach Eugene Agagbe-led NPFL Youth Team, as they recorded a 1–0 victory over Gateway United FC, a Nigeria National League (NNL) side, in a friendly match.

The NPFL Youth Team began the game strongly, creating several scoring chances that were denied by Gateway United’s goalkeeper. The opponents also posed threats on goal but were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the scoreline goalless at halftime.

The breakthrough came in the 51st minute, when Ezenabo Somtochukwu Raphael converted a header from Toheeb’s corner-kick assist, sending the ball past the goalkeeper to put the NPFL Youth Team ahead.

Both sides continued to press for more goals, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle — NPFL Youth Team 1–0 Gateway United FC.

Ezenabo Somtochukwu, the lone goal scorer, was named Man of the Match for his decisive performance.

Coach Eugene Agagbe commended his players for their consistency and described the day’s display as “classical.”

With this result, the NPFL Youth Team has now secured four wins in four matches, maintaining their impressive unbeaten streak.
