NPFL Unveils EuroMatch as New Title Sponsor in $7.5m Deal

Posted : 27 August 2026

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has unveiled EuroMatch as its new title sponsor in a three-year agreement worth $7.5 million. The deal was announced in Abuja on Wednesday, August 26, ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The agreement is valued at $2.5 million per season. The competition will now be known commercially as the EuroMatch NPFL under the new partnership.

NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said 60 percent of the sponsorship revenue will go directly to the participating clubs. He said the arrangement is designed to improve players' wages and welfare across the league.

Elegbeleye also stressed that the league's commercial growth must benefit the players. He said the athletes are the main attraction in sports and should receive greater attention as the NPFL continues to develop its commercial value.

The sponsorship represents a major commercial boost for the domestic league. The partnership is expected to give clubs additional resources while supporting efforts to improve the organisation, visibility and financial stability of the competition.

EuroMatch Group is a Warsaw-based company operating in the global gaming and sports entertainment sector. Its portfolio includes the EuroMatch sportsbook brand and GB2B, which provides technology and software services to licensed gaming operators.

Group Chairman Sadi Semih described the partnership as a strategic investment in Nigerian football. He said the company sees Nigeria as an important market because of its football talent and opportunities within the country's sports entertainment industry.

The Nigeria Football Federation also welcomed the agreement. NFF President Ibrahim Gusau said the partnership reflects continued efforts to strengthen the organisation and commercial value of the domestic game.

The unveiling also included the presentation of a new NPFL logo. The refreshed identity forms part of the league's wider push to improve its branding, marketing and commercial appeal.

The 2026/27 campaign will begin on Friday, August 28, with Shooting Stars hosting Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. The opening round will mark the start of the first season under the EuroMatch NPFL branding.

The new sponsorship also comes with increased financial incentives for clubs. The 2026/27 NPFL champions are set to receive a record ₦1 billion prize, while the league continues its push to improve player welfare and make the competition more commercially attractive.
