NPFL: Niger Tornadoes Sign El-Kanemi Warriors Star Usman Audu

Niger Tornadoes have strengthened their squad with the signing of Usman Audu from El-Kanemi Warriors ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Audu joins the Ikon Allah Boys after playing an important role in El-Kanemi Warriors' successful President Federation Cup campaign last season. His arrival adds further quality and experience to the Niger Tornadoes squad.

The move also reunites Audu with Kabiru Dogo, who is now the technical adviser of Niger Tornadoes. Dogo coached the player during his time with El-Kanemi Warriors before taking charge of the Minna-based club.

Dogo signed a three-year contract with Niger Tornadoes in July and was handed the task of building a competitive team capable of securing a continental qualification spot. His familiarity with Audu could help the new signing settle quickly into his plans.

The Ikon Allah Boys have been active in the transfer market as they prepare for the new NPFL campaign. The club have been working to strengthen their squad after losing several important players during the off-season.

Audu's arrival is therefore another step in the club's rebuilding process. Niger Tornadoes will be hoping the midfielder can reproduce the form that helped El-Kanemi Warriors achieve success in the President Federation Cup.

The signing also comes as Niger Tornadoes prepare for a new era under Dogo. The club's management has been restructured as part of efforts to improve its administration and sporting performance.

Niger Tornadoes finished the previous NPFL campaign in seventh position according to available squad and league records. The club will now be targeting a stronger showing when the 2026/27 season begins.

With Audu added to the squad, Dogo has another familiar player to work with as he builds his team. The new signing will now look to make an immediate impact and help Niger Tornadoes compete for their targets in the coming campaign.
