The new head coach of Plateau United FC, Shola Adegun, is in high spirits as his side prepares for their first home fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, a Matchday 2 clash against Katsina United FC at the New Jos Stadium.
The Peace Boys will be looking to bounce back after a narrow defeat to their North Central rivals and league returnees, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, in their opening game.
Reflecting on his team’s prospects, Adegun said:
“Hopefully we will be able to put on a good performance, create more chances than we did in the first game in Bauchi, and secure the 3 points that we need.”
He praised his squad’s depth and hunger for success, highlighting a blend of youth and experience despite missing some recruitment targets.
“We have a really good group—talented players who are hungry for success, with a decent mix of experience and youthfulness. Although we’ve not hit all our recruitment goals, I believe we have a team capable of competing,” he said.
Adegun also appealed to fans to rally behind the team:
“We hope for their support and patience. For this weekend’s match, we want them to turn out in their numbers to cheer the team on to victory.”
