Shooting Stars SC continue their resurgence as they face Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium in NPFL Match Day 8.
A resurgent Shooting Stars SC will test their strength against struggling Kano Pillars FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 8 fixture.
The Oluyole Warriors endured a below-par start to the season but have recently rediscovered their rhythm with two consecutive wins.
Now under new head coach Nurudeen Aweroro, the Ibadan-based club found their footing in Match Days 6 and 7, securing back-to-back victories — first against newly promoted Warri Wolves and then over Plateau United FC in Ibadan.
Five-time league champions Kano Pillars have also struggled for form, sitting 16th on the NPFL log with just a point separating them from the relegation zone.
The Sai Masu Gida have recorded only two wins, three draws, and three losses so far this season, a disappointing return for a club of their stature.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars forward Qamar Adegoke has promised fans that the players will keep pushing towards the team’s season objectives.
The Oluyole Warriors currently occupy fifth place on the NPFL table with 10 points from seven matches, following their 2025/2026 Match Day 7 victory over Plateau United.
“With the way our coaches handle us, there’s no way a player won’t give his best,” Adegoke said during a sports radio programme in Ibadan.
“I urge all Oluyole Warriors fans to keep supporting us — we won’t disappoint them.”
With both sides eager to climb the standings, the showdown in Kano promises to be a thrilling battle between two proud NPFL clubs seeking consistency.
