Katsina United have promoted two promising U-19 players to their senior team ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Chanji Boys have handed professional contracts to Umar Rabiu Mohammad and Abdurraman Saidu following their progression from the club's youth setup. The duo will now train with the first team as they prepare for the new campaign.
Mohammad and Saidu are expected to compete for places in the senior squad. Their promotion provides the club with an opportunity to integrate young talent into the first team while strengthening their options ahead of the new season.
The move is also part of Katsina United's efforts to develop players from within their system. Both youngsters impressed at U-19 level before earning the opportunity to step up to senior football.
The two players will face competition from more experienced members of the squad as they seek to establish themselves under the club's technical team. Their progress during pre-season will be important in determining how quickly they can become regular first-team options.
Katsina United finished ninth in the 2025/26 NPFL season. The club will now aim for an improved campaign when the new season gets underway.
