The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a short mid-season pause for the ongoing 2025/2026 campaign, with league activities suspended from December 29 to January 13.
The break comes at a crucial stage of the season, allowing clubs time to recover from the rigours of the first round, refine their tactical plans, and address administrative matters before the competition resumes.
NPFL organisers also confirmed that the January transfer window will open on January 1 and close on January 31, 2026, giving teams the chance to reinforce their squads, release underperforming players, and recalibrate their objectives for the remainder of the season.
Action in the top flight is set to resume immediately after the festive pause, with clubs returning refreshed and focused as the battle for the league title, continental qualification, and survival intensifies across Nigeria.
