Nottingham Forest Enter Race to Sign U.S. Midfielder Yunus Musah
Posted : 28 June 2025
Nottingham Forest have become the latest English club to express interest in signing Yunus Musah, the talented American midfielder currently playing for AC Milan.
According to sources close to the Premier League side, Forest are weighing up a potential offer as they look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Musah, who has also attracted attention from West Ham, Aston Villa, and clubs in Germany, is said to be open to a move after an inconsistent spell in Italy.
The 22-year-old joined Milan from Valencia in 2023 but has found regular starts hard to come by, particularly in the latter part of last season. Despite his technical skill and versatility, Musah has struggled to nail down a permanent role in the Rossoneri’s setup, prompting speculation about his future.
Musah, born in New York and raised in Europe, is of Ghanaian heritage and has represented the United States at senior international level since 2020. He remains a key figure for the USMNT and is expected to play a significant role in their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo is believed to be an admirer of Musah’s energy, ball-carrying ability, and potential to adapt to various midfield roles. The club is aiming to inject more youth and dynamism into its squad after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
While AC Milan have not confirmed Musah’s availability, reports in Italy suggest the club may be willing to listen to offers in the region of €25 million. With several teams monitoring his situation, Forest could face stiff competition to land the midfielder.
Musah’s representatives are reportedly open to discussions, though no formal bid has been submitted yet. Talks are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as clubs firm up their summer transfer strategies.
If completed, a move to Nottingham would mark a return to English football for Musah, who spent part of his youth career at Arsenal before moving to Spain. It would also offer the player a fresh opportunity to revive his club career in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
