The Nigeria National League (NNL) has ruled out an extension of its registration deadline, directing clubs to submit all required forms by Oct. 23 ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The directive places participating clubs under pressure to complete outstanding administrative requirements before the deadline, with failure to comply potentially threatening their participation in the new campaign.
The league has also fixed Oct. 30 for the collection of players’ licences, giving clubs separate deadlines to complete their registration processes ahead of the season’s commencement.
NNL Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, said the timelines were established to promote administrative discipline, ensure proper documentation, and facilitate a smooth start to the campaign.
He urged club administrators to act promptly, stressing that the league would not extend either deadline.
Alanana’s warning comes as the NNL prepares for the opening fixture of the new season, scheduled for Oct. 31 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Heartland FC will host Crown FC of Ogbomoso in a Conference A encounter that will serve as the season’s curtain-raiser.
The match will be the only fixture on the opening day, while other league games are scheduled to commence a week later.
With the kick-off date approaching, clubs must meet the Oct. 23 registration deadline and collect their players’ licences by Oct. 30 to avoid administrative complications ahead of the new season.
