Solution FC finished the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season on a high with a commanding 3–1 away victory against Rovers FC in a thrilling season finale at the iconic UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State.
The technical crew, led by head coach Gabriel Ezema, made two changes to the lineup that drew against Sporting Lagos FC.
Stephen Etta and Divine Victor were handed starting roles, replacing Chidera Okafor and Christian Ahamefula, respectively.
Both teams came into the match determined to finish the season on a positive note. However, the game took an early twist in the 36th minute when Chibueze Oputa of Solution FC was shown a red card for a second bookable offence, reducing the visitors to ten men.
Rovers FC capitalized on the advantage just before halftime, taking the lead through a powerful strike from Etete Okon from outside the box.
Despite being a man down, Solution FC found an equalizer in the 70th minute as Chukwuemeka Oyieke took advantage of a defensive blunder in the Rovers' backline to level the scores, setting up a tense finish.
The match swung again in the 83rd minute when Rovers' Umo Hogan was sent off for a second yellow card, leveling the playing field at ten men apiece.
Solution FC made the most of the opportunity, with Valentine Ugwu producing a brilliant finish in the 85th minute to give his side a 2–1 lead.
Substitute Chukwuemeka Okeke sealed the victory in stoppage time, scoring from a goalmouth scramble following a swift counter-attacking move.
The win capped off an encouraging campaign for the Anambra-based side, who ended their season with flair and determination.
