The Nationwide League One (NLO) has warned clubs participating in the NLO Cup to comply with venue security and facility requirements, including the mandatory display of pitch-side panels bearing club names, partners, and sponsors.
The directive, issued by the NLO Secretariat, is aimed at ensuring professional match-day operations, protecting players and officials, and improving the commercial appeal of the grassroots competition.
Under the guidelines, participating clubs are required to provide adequate security at their designated home grounds and ensure that playing surfaces, dressing rooms, and other supporting facilities are in suitable condition before matches.
The Secretariat also stressed the need for clubs to prominently display the required pitch panels to improve the visibility of sponsors and commercial partners during matches.
The initiative is expected to help clubs maximise branding opportunities, strengthen existing sponsorship relationships, and attract potential investors to grassroots football.
The NLO emphasised that compliance with the requirements was compulsory, warning that clubs that fail to meet the stipulated standards could face sanctions determined by the Competition Organising Committee.
Participating teams have consequently been urged to make the necessary arrangements ahead of their fixtures to avoid disciplinary consequences.
The directive underscores the league's efforts to improve safety, operational standards, and commercial development while strengthening the organisation of grassroots football in Nigeria.
