NLO shifts Kano Ambassadors, Musa Musa replay over Eid-el-Kabir

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has shifted the replay fixture between Kano Ambassadors FC and Musa Musa FC to allow players, officials, and supporters to observe the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The replay match, earlier fixed for May 26, will now be played on May 31 at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja, with kick-off scheduled for 10 a.m.

The decision followed requests submitted by the affected clubs, who appealed for a new date because the initial fixture coincided with the Muslim festive period.

In a letter dated May 25 and addressed to the Kano State Football Association, FCT Football Association, and Katsina State Football Association, the NLO confirmed approval of the postponement.

According to the league body, the move was made in consideration of the religious and cultural responsibilities of stakeholders involved in the competition.

“The Nationwide League One highly respects the religious and cultural commitments of our member clubs, players, and officials,” the letter stated.

“In the spirit of fairness, inclusivity, and ensuring optimal performance on the pitch, management has reviewed and approved your request.”

The NLO also disclosed that all relevant parties, including match officials and stadium management, had been informed to ensure smooth organisation of the encounter.

Both clubs were instructed to arrive at the venue with exactly 20 players and five officials for the replay fixture.

The letter, signed by the League Manager, Temitayo Egbaiyelo, further extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to the teams and praised their dedication to grassroots football development.

The NLO remains Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football league, providing opportunities for emerging talents across the country.

The administrative adjustment ensures that both football clubs can participate competitively without compromising their religious commitments during the festive season. By granting this postponement, the league management maintains its support for the well-being and cultural values of its stakeholders. This rescheduled encounter in Abuja highlights the ongoing efforts of the NLO to foster a balanced environment for grassroots football development in Nigeria.
