NLO Queries Match Officials Over Alleged Leak of Playoff Report

Posted : 01 July 2026

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has issued queries to Centre Referee Adanlawo Ayomide and Match Commissioner Mohammed Lateef over the alleged unauthorised disclosure of the official match report from the one-leg playoff between Yewa Football Academy and FC Ebedei in Akure.

According to a statement from the NLO Media Department, the league's Secretariat launched the disciplinary process after receiving a formal communication from Yewa Football Academy official Mojeed Ibrahim, who claimed to have obtained the official match report for the fixture.

The NLO described the match report as a confidential document intended solely for the Secretariat to facilitate impartial review and decision-making.

It stressed that any unauthorised release of the report to a club official constitutes a serious breach of the league's Code of Conduct and established ethical standards.

Both officials have been directed to provide detailed written explanations addressing how the confidential document came into the possession of Mr Ibrahim.

The league also requested that the referee and match commissioner explain why the incident should not be regarded as evidence of collusion or conspiracy capable of undermining the integrity of the competition.

The NLO warned that it operates a zero-tolerance policy on issues affecting match integrity, adding that failure to submit satisfactory responses within 24 hours could result in their immediate and indefinite suspension from all league activities.

The matter, the league added, may subsequently be referred to the NFF Referees Committee and the NLO Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and possible sanctions.

The Secretariat maintained that the credibility of the league depends on the professionalism, impartiality, and discretion of its match officials, noting that the alleged breach is being treated with the utmost seriousness.

The outcome of the investigation is expected to determine whether further disciplinary measures will be taken, as the NLO seeks to uphold transparency, fairness, and confidence in the administration of its competitions.
