Posted : 10 December 2023

Nigeria’s Super Bantamweight sensation, Opeyemi ‘Sense Boy’ Adeyemi, delivered a powerful performance on Saturday morning at the Caribe Royale Orlando, Orlando Florida, USA. He outpunched his challenger, Puerto Rican Jason Vera, to remain the undisputed champion in that category.

Sense Boy dropped Vera twice in the 2nd round of the 6-round bout after a barrage of body punches. The referee stopped the bout in 1 minute 47 seconds of the round, giving the Nigerian a record of 10-0-18KO’s.

Both boxers are orthodox fighters, standing at 5ft 7ins tall each. However, Vera has been in the professional fighting stage for 10 years, while Sense Boy made his debut on October 14, 2018 (5 years ago).

The Nigerian boxing community was optimistic that Sense Boy would win the bout due to his hard and sporadic punching style. The cheers were abundant within the boxing community in Nigeria.

Fight Gist, a boxing promotion body with boxing news, provided the Nigerian community with updates on the bout, including photographs and video clips posted on YOUTUBE of the weigh-in and the actual fight.
