Faroe Islands Premier League powerhouse Havnar Bóltfelag (HB) has officially announced the signing of Nigerian striker Moses Ebiye. The 28-year-old forward arrives at the Tórshavn-based club following the expiration of his contract with Scottish side Motherwell. Ebiye has committed his future to the Faroese giants by signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Havnar Bóltfelag is widely regarded as the most prestigious team in the island nation's football history. The club boasts a record 24 league titles and 30 national cup trophies, establishing a legacy of domestic dominance. Ebiye joins a squad that finished as runners-up in the 2025 season and is currently pushing for further silverware and European qualification.
The forward had been without a club since the end of the 2024–25 Scottish Premiership season. During his tenure at Motherwell, Ebiye made 39 appearances and managed to find the net seven times. His final contribution for the Steelmen was a dramatic equalizing goal against Ross County on the final day of the previous campaign.
Before his stint in Scotland, Ebiye built a solid reputation in the Norwegian top flight, the Eliteserien. He represented several clubs in Norway, including Lillestrøm, Tromsø, HamKam, and Aalesund. Throughout his time in the Scandinavian country, he scored 19 goals in the premier division and added another 12 goals during his period in the second-tier OBOS-ligaen.
Ebiye first gained prominence in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) while playing for Akwa United and Ikorodu City. His physical presence and versatility as a center-forward made him an attractive prospect for European scouts. Standing at 1.85m, his aerial ability is expected to be a major asset for HB in the Meistaradeildin.
The transfer marks a fresh start for the striker, who looks to regain consistent playing time in a new environment. HB Tórshavn officials expressed confidence that Ebiye’s extensive European experience will help the team secure the 2026 league title. He is expected to integrate into the squad immediately for their upcoming domestic fixtures.
By moving to the Faroe Islands, Ebiye continues the trend of Nigerian professionals seeking opportunities in growing European leagues. His arrival has already generated significant interest among the local supporters in Tórshavn. The forward will aim to add to his career trophy haul, which currently includes a Norwegian Cup win with Lillestrøm in 2017.
