Nigerian Forward Daniel Wisdom Joins KAA Gent on Loan with Option to Buy

KAA Gent have confirmed the signing of promising Nigerian forward Daniel Wisdom on a season-long loan from Serbian club FK Spartak Subotica, with the Belgian outfit holding an option to make the deal permanent.

The Belgian club announced that the highly rated attacker will initially strengthen Jong KAA Gent as he continues his development. The move follows an impressive campaign in Serbia that established Wisdom as one of the country's emerging young talents.

Wisdom enjoyed a prolific 2025/26 season with Spartak Subotica's reserve team in the Omladinska Liga, scoring 10 goals in just 15 appearances. His goalscoring exploits earned him a promotion to the senior squad, where he made three first-team appearances before the end of the season.

Born in May 2007, the Nigerian winger has earned praise for his pace, technical ability and confidence in one-on-one situations. KAA Gent described him as a quick and skilful attacker who enjoys taking on defenders and possesses a natural eye for goal.

The Buffalos believe the youngster has significant potential and see the loan spell as an opportunity for him to continue his progress within the club's development system. He is expected to feature regularly for Jong KAA Gent while adapting to Belgian football.

Wisdom began his football career at D Shack Football Academy before securing a move to FK Spartak Subotica. He remains under contract with the Serbian club until the end of the 2028/29 season, making this loan an important step in his long-term development.

Reports from Serbia indicate that the agreement includes an option for KAA Gent to complete a permanent transfer if the winger impresses during the loan spell. Spartak Subotica are also expected to retain a percentage of any future transfer should the Belgian club activate the purchase clause.
