Nigeria-eligible forward Samuel Dumbili has signed a new contract with Dutch Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven, extending his stay at the club until June 30, 2028.

The new agreement comes just weeks after his younger brother, Nathan Dumbili, left PSV following the expiration of his contract. While Nathan's time at the club came to an end, Samuel has chosen to continue his development in Eindhoven after impressing within the club's academy.

Samuel's previous professional deal expired at the end of June, but both the player and PSV agreed on fresh terms that will keep the talented attacker at the Philips Stadion for another two seasons.

The 18-year-old has been part of PSV's youth system since joining the academy at the age of 10. He progressed steadily through the various age groups before signing his first professional contract in 2024, a reward for his consistent performances and rapid development.

Born in Mol, Belgium, on May 19, Samuel is eligible to represent Nigeria through his family heritage despite featuring for the Netherlands at youth level. He has represented the Dutch national teams at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels, making him one of several dual-nationality prospects being monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Dumbili is regarded as one of PSV's exciting young attacking talents. Comfortable on either wing, he is known for his explosive pace, close control and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations. His direct style of play has made him a regular threat in youth competitions and earned him opportunities to train with Jong PSV, the club's reserve side.

The winger has been involved in Jong PSV's preparations for the upcoming campaign and will be hoping to establish himself in the Eerste Divisie while pushing for opportunities with PSV's senior squad.

PSV's decision to retain Dumbili highlights the club's confidence in his long-term potential. The Eindhoven outfit has built a strong reputation for developing young players into first-team stars, and the new contract gives the Nigerian-eligible youngster the platform to continue his progress.

Although he remains part of the Netherlands' youth setup, Samuel Dumbili will continue to attract attention from Nigeria as he advances in his career. His performances over the next two seasons could prove decisive in determining both his club future and eventual international allegiance.
