The Nigeria Football Federation has officially announced a new date for the highly anticipated final of the 2026 President Federation Cup showpiece. The grand finale of the glamorous domestic knockout tournament has been rescheduled from its initial June 27 date to Saturday, July 11, 2026. Despite the sudden calendar modification, football authorities confirmed that the main venue remains the iconic Stephen Keshi Stadium located in Asaba, Delta State.

Organizers have not disclosed the formal reasons behind this abrupt administrative shift; however, both finalist clubs now possess two extra weeks to fine-tune their tactical plans. The massive domestic clash will feature elite Nigeria Premier Football League participants El-Kanemi Warriors going head-to-head against Lagos-based newcomers Ikorodu City. The critical stakes remain incredibly high for both sides; the eventual champion secures a direct automatic ticket to represent Nigeria in the continental CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Maiduguri-based kings El-Kanemi Warriors reached this final stage after executing a dominant performance in the semifinals on Wednesday. The current defending champions comfortably eliminated regional rivals Wikki Tourists with a convincing 3-1 victory at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina. The impressive win keeps them firmly on course to secure their fourth historic Federation Cup title, having previously claimed the prestigious crown in 1991, 1992, and 2024.

Conversely, Lagos side Ikorodu City advanced to the grand finale after pulling off an absolute nail-biting thriller in Benin City. The ambitious young team fought back to secure a dramatic 1-1 draw in regulation time against top-flight counterparts Nasarawa United.
