The administration, which began on 30 September 2022, will conclude its tenure on 29 September 2026. As a result, the boards led by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye (NPFL), Chief George Aluo (NNL), and HE Silas Ali Agara (NLO) will now remain in office until that same date.
The NFF Executive Committee praised the achievements of the three boards over the past two years and urged them to redouble their efforts. The committee emphasized the need for improved packaging and marketing of the leagues, ensuring they become more appealing to football stakeholders both within and beyond Nigeria.
They were also tasked with continuous innovation and internal evaluation to improve the state of domestic football.
While the NFF renewed the mandates of the NPFL, NNL, and NLO leaderships, the decision regarding the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) board, chaired by Ms Nkechi Nneka Obi, has been postponed to a later date.
The current league boards were appointed on 1 July 2023 with a two-year mandate, which officially expired on 30 June 2025. The NFF’s move now ensures continuity in administration for another full season and beyond.
