Newly appointed Bala gets first assignment against Bendel Insurance Monday Osagie

Coach Abubakar Bala will have his first official assignment as the new head coach of Katsina United FC against Bendel Insurance FC when both sides meet on Match Day 14 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Umaru Dikko Stadium in Katsina.


A well-versed Abubakar, in an interview after his appointment, has solicited support to enable him to succeed as the coach of the Changi Boys. His predecessor, Tony Bolus, experienced a tumultuous regime in the club.


In Bolus's last match, he sprang an unusual surprise in Ibadan by holding the Oluyole Warriors hostage, ending Match Day 13 in a 1-1 stalemate, much to the chagrin of the home fans.


Now, Bala Abubakar will have to continue from where Bolus left off, ensuring relegation survival for the club in the ongoing season.


Bendel Insurance might also need away points to shore up the accumulated points if they want to stand a chance in another continental football showpiece next season.
