Neurospark FC Seal Historic NNL Promotion After Playoff Triumph

Debutants Neurospark FC completed a remarkable rise by securing promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) after defeating Police Machine 2-1 on the final day of the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) Promotion Playoffs in Lafia.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT)-based side earned the only promotion ticket from the playoffs after finishing top of the standings with six points from three matches.

Neurospark's journey to promotion was far from straightforward. Despite suffering a 3-2 defeat to Kogi United in their opening fixture, the team responded impressively with a 2-0 victory over Milantarki FC to keep their hopes alive.

The result, combined with the 1-1 draw between Kogi United and Police Machine on Matchday Two, left the promotion race wide open heading into the final round of matches.

Kogi United's hopes suffered a setback after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Milantarki FC, leaving the decisive fixture between Neurospark and Police Machine to determine the promotion winner.

Neurospark rose to the occasion, producing a composed display to secure a 2-1 victory courtesy of goals from Ibrahim Suleiman and Abdullahi Mohammed.

The victory completed a memorable campaign for the newcomers, who had earlier dominated the Area 10–Old Parade Ground Centre during the regular season, remaining unbeaten with six wins and one draw in seven matches.

Coach Samuel Gbenga's side had also prepared extensively for the playoffs, scouting potential opponents before the competition.

Neurospark finished the playoffs with six points, ahead of Kogi United on five points, while Police Machine ended with four points and Milantarki FC finished bottom with one point.

The promotion marks a significant milestone in the club's history and rewards a campaign defined by resilience, consistency, and strong performances, as Neurospark FC prepares for life in the Nigeria National League.
