Ndidi, Uduokhai Miss Besiktas Europa League Clash Against Midtjylland

Beşiktaş will be without Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and defender Felix Uduokhai when they face FC Midtjylland in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie at the MCH Arena on Thursday.

Both players were registered for the Europa League qualifying rounds, but neither will be available for selection. Ndidi remains sidelined with an ankle ligament injury, while Uduokhai will miss the match through suspension after failing to travel with the squad.

Ndidi suffered the injury during training earlier this month and subsequent medical examinations confirmed ligament damage to his ankle. The Super Eagles midfielder has already begun his rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Beşiktaş's medical staff and is still working towards full fitness.

The Turkish giants head into the return leg holding a slender 1-0 advantage after last week's victory at Tüpraş Stadium. Midfielder Orkun Kökçü scored the only goal of the first leg, giving Beşiktaş a narrow edge ahead of the decisive encounter in Denmark.

Manager Vincenzo Italiano will be aiming to guide Beşiktaş safely into the third qualifying round despite the absence of two experienced defenders. Victory over Midtjylland would see the Black and Whites advance to face either Czech side Hradec Králové or Norwegian club Tromsø in the next stage of the competition.

Midtjylland have also been forced into changes ahead of the second leg. Nigerian striker Friday Etim has been left out of the Danish club's 23-man squad after receiving a red card just 16 minutes into the first meeting between the two teams.

However, fellow Nigerian forward Stanley Iheanacho is expected to be included in the matchday squad as Midtjylland attempt to overturn the one-goal deficit on home soil. The Danish side will rely on home support and an improved attacking display to keep their European campaign alive.

For Beşiktaş, progressing to the next qualifying round would represent another important step towards securing a place in the UEFA Europa League league phase. The club will be hoping its defensive organisation and first-leg advantage prove enough to withstand Midtjylland's expected pressure in Denmark.

Ndidi's absence remains a setback for the Turkish side, with the Nigerian midfielder expected to continue his recovery before returning to competitive action later in the season.
