Nasarawa United Blend New Signings, Youth Talent for 2026/27 NPFL Campaign

Nasarawa United have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with the acquisition of new players and the promotion of promising talents from their feeder team.

The Solid Miners unveiled their new signings and youth graduates at the Lafia City Stadium during the week in a ceremony attended by members of the club’s management, technical crew and supporters.

The new recruits are expected to provide greater depth and competition across key areas as the club begins its campaign in the Euromatch-sponsored NPFL and President Federation’s Cup.

Among the players unveiled were goalkeeper Cletus Anthony from Bendel Insurance of Benin City; left-back Sunday Dapma from Barau FC of Kano; and centre-backs Ahmed Family from Niger Tornadoes and Harrison Ebah from Plateau United.

The midfield department has also been strengthened with the arrival of Uzochukwu Ozorji from GBS Academy, Muhammad Umar ‘Sugar’ from Barau FC, Mayi Seth Ademe from Warri Wolves, Ogbodo Kelechi Emmanuel from Rangers International, Abbah Usman Ibrahim from Wikki Tourists and Bitrus Philip from Gombe United.

Other additions include forwards Austine Onyemaechi from Shooting Stars, Shammasu Mohammed from Barau FC, Dabani Alao from Plateau United and Yakubu Musa David from GBS Academy.

Wingers Sunday Aluko from Basira FC and Prince Bawa Oche from King’s FC, as well as centre-back Buchi Amadi from Kaduna United, complete the list of new recruits.

The club has also promoted midfielder Adamu Mohammed Amawun and centre-back Sanni Hassan Liman from its feeder team, underlining its intention to combine experienced players with emerging talents.

Team Manager Adamu Musa Galle said the recruitment exercise was carefully designed to address specific areas of need and give the team sufficient depth for the demanding season ahead.

He added that the promotion of players from the feeder team demonstrated the club’s commitment to developing and retaining homegrown talent.

Technical Adviser Mangut Mbwas expressed optimism that the combination of established players and young prospects would help Nasarawa United achieve its objectives in the new campaign.

Mbwas said the team was determined to restore the club’s pride and compete strongly in both the NPFL and President Federation’s Cup.

“With preparations intensifying, Nasarawa United are fully set to compete and make a significant impact in the 2026/27 NPFL season,” he said.

Club Chairman Solomon Babanjah also challenged the players to embrace discipline and professionalism while maintaining the winning mentality expected of representatives of Nasarawa State.

The Solid Miners will begin their NPFL campaign away to Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

The encounter offers Nasarawa United an opportunity to avenge last season’s 3-0 defeat in Kano before returning to Lafia to host Bendel Insurance at the refurbished Lafia City Stadium the following week.
