Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa, was unable to save his team, Kano Pillars FC, as the four-time league champions fell to a 1-0 defeat against neighbors Katsina United FC.
The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 36, played at the Umaru Dikko Stadium in Katsina, saw Abdulbari Nura score the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute.
The win has now moved the Changi Boys to 14th place on the NPFL log with 47 points, the same as 13th-placed Kwara United FC.
Kano Pillars coach, Usman Abdallah, said that the match should have been won by his team if not for their profligacy in front of goal.
"We should have won the match because we played better, but the goals just weren't coming," he said.
"My players did their best to win the match, but they scored first and then decided to close up their defense, not allowing our strikers to penetrate."
