Motherwell secures Nigerian striker after a lengthy and challenging process

Posted : 06 March 2024

Motherwell has secured the services of striker Moses Ebiye on a permanent deal until the summer of 2025, marking the end of what manager Stuart Kettlewell described as a "long and arduous process." The 26-year-old, formerly with Aalesund in Norway, joined Motherwell as a free agent after showcasing his scoring prowess with 19 goals in Norway's top flight.

Manager Kettlewell expressed his delight in bolstering the squad with Ebiye's goal-scoring capabilities as they aim to secure a spot in the top six in the Premiership. However, he acknowledged the challenges faced in bringing the player to Scotland, emphasizing the hard work behind the scenes by the club's personnel. Kettlewell shared on the club's website, "This has been a long and arduous process. A lot of people behind the scenes at the club have had to work very hard, but we’re very excited to see what Moses can do in his time at the club."

Ebiye himself expressed his happiness in joining Motherwell, stating, "I am very happy to have joined the club. It has been good at training and getting to know the team. I hope I can make an impact in my time here." The Nigerian striker is expected to contribute significantly to Motherwell's performance for the remainder of the season.

In other news, Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller has earned a call-up to the Scotland under-19 squad, set to participate in games against Italy, Georgia, and the Czech Republic as part of their Euro qualifying campaign.
