Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has ended speculation about his future in France by confirming that he has no intention of joining another Ligue 1 side. The FC Nantes star revealed that while he remains committed to finishing his contract at the club, any future move will take him beyond French football.
Simon, 29, has been a key figure for Nantes since joining permanently in 2020, and although interest from French rivals has emerged—most notably from clubs like Lyon and Marseille—he made it clear he is not open to a domestic switch.
In a recent interview the Nigerian international said he values stability, playing time, and a good environment more than chasing a bigger club name.
“When you love your club and get on well with everyone, you can stay… You can be at a bigger club, not play, and not be happy,” Simon stated.
While FC Nantes currently sit outside of European competition contention, Simon has consistently contributed on the pitch, earning admiration from fans and scouts alike. Reports have also linked him with a potential move abroad, including to Serie A side AS Roma, which remains a possibility.
His contract with Nantes runs until 2026, but with growing international interest and his own declaration about life beyond Ligue 1, a summer exit could still be on the horizon.
As the transfer window approaches, Simon’s clarity on avoiding a domestic move will likely narrow down his next destination—but open the door for clubs outside France to make their approach.
