Molde Hand Daniel Daga New Contract Extension Until 2031

Posted : 21 August 2026

Norwegian club Molde FK have agreed a new contract with Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga that will reportedly keep him at the club until 2031. The reported extension reflects the club’s confidence in the 19-year-old and his long-term potential.

Daga joined Molde in January 2025 after developing in Nigeria with Dakkada and Enyimba. He has since progressed into the club’s first-team setup and has attracted attention for his work in central midfield.

Available player records currently list his existing Molde contract as running until December 2027. The reported new agreement would therefore represent a significant extension of his stay in Norway.

Daga has enjoyed an impressive return to competitive action in recent weeks. He scored in Molde’s 4-2 away win over KFUM Oslo on July 26 before finding the net again in the 3-3 draw against Sarpsborg 08 on August 2.

The midfielder has made three Eliteserien appearances this season, starting twice and playing 198 minutes. He has scored two goals in the league, with his performances against KFUM Oslo and Sarpsborg 08 earning strong individual ratings.

Daga’s recent progress comes after a difficult period away from football. He was suspended by Molde during legal proceedings in Norway but returned to selection after the Frostating Court of Appeal unanimously acquitted him in July. Molde subsequently confirmed that he would be available for selection again.

The Nigerian youngster had previously made his mark at international level with the Flying Eagles. He represented Nigeria at the 2023 and 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cups and remains regarded as one of the country’s promising young midfielders.

Molde’s reported decision to extend his contract comes as Daga begins to rebuild his momentum in Norway. His ability to contribute goals from midfield has added another dimension to his game, while his defensive work and technical quality remain important parts of his profile.

The reported 2031 agreement would give Molde greater security over a player they believe can continue developing at the club. It also gives Daga a long-term platform to establish himself further in the Eliteserien and potentially push towards senior international football with Nigeria.
