Mohamed Salah has officially announced that his storied career with Liverpool will conclude at the end of the current season. The 33-year-old forward reached a mutual agreement with the club to terminate his contract one year early, allowing him to depart as a free agent this summer. The news brings an end to a nine-year tenure characterized by record-breaking scoring and a collection of major silverware.

The "Egyptian King" has made 435 appearances for the Reds, netting 255 goals and providing 92 assists since joining from Roma in 2017. His goal tally places him third on the club's all-time list, trailing only legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. During his time on Merseyside, Salah helped Liverpool secure two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, and multiple domestic cups.

Despite his legendary status, the current season has been marred by internal friction and a public fallout with head coach Arne Slot. The tension peaked in December following an explosive interview at Elland Road where Salah claimed his relationship with Slot had broken down. The forward expressed frustration after being benched for several high-profile matches, stating he felt "thrown under the bus" by the club's hierarchy.
