Mighty Jets End First Stanza with Convincing Win over ABS FC

As the Yuletide season approaches, Nigeria’s second-tier league, the NNL, has concluded its first-stanza matches across all four groups in both the Northern and Southern Conferences and will now proceed on a mid-season break. The league is scheduled to resume on 31 January 2026 for the second stanza.

On Saturday, Mighty Jets International FC recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over visiting ABS FC of Ilorin, ending the first stanza on a winning note. Lanky striker Okon Otop Eta converted a penalty in the 30th minute after Yahaya Sani was fouled in the box, giving Jets an early lead.

Yahaya Sani doubled the advantage in the 54th minute with a brilliant strike from inside the box, putting Mighty Jets further ahead and showcasing the team’s attacking prowess.

Captain Saleh Mohammed completed the scoring, heading home a corner to seal the 3-0 victory and return the Jos-based side to winning ways.

The result ensured Mighty Jets ended the first stanza on a high, maintaining momentum and confidence ahead of the mid-season break.

The team, led by General Manager Mbum Ferdinand, expressed gratitude to fans for their continued support and extended festive greetings.

As the league prepares to resume on 31 January 2026, Mighty Jets look forward to building on this strong finish to the first stanza and pursuing success in the second half of the season.
