2026/2027 Euro-Match NPFL Matchday 4: Akanni Backs Katsina United to Recover Against Tornadoes

Katsina United midfielder Akanni Elijah has urged his teammates to show character and determination as they look to revive their campaign against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

The Chanji Boys head into the Matchday Four fixture under pressure following a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Kwara United in their previous league outing.

Akanni, who has not featured for Katsina United since the start of the 2026/27 Euro-Match Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, has returned to the matchday squad for the encounter.

The midfielder believes the team can use the setback as motivation to produce a better performance against their northern rivals.

With Katsina United looking to regain momentum, Akanni’s return could provide additional experience and stability as they aim to secure a positive result following their recent setback.

The Chanji Boys will host Niger Tornadoes at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
