Manchester United eyes January signings as ownership debate continues

The club may be in the market for a new center-back, especially if Lisandro Martinez doesn't return before the end of the year.

Branthwaite, currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven, has also attracted attention, with Manchester City monitoring his progress. Talks between Branthwaite and Everton regarding a new contract are ongoing.
 
There's speculation that Real Madrid's Luka Modric could leave the club as early as January to join Inter Miami. Modric's reduced playing time at Real Madrid has fueled exit rumors, with suggestions that he might seek more minutes and happiness elsewhere. However, his departure could be influenced by his participation in the UEFA European Championship with Croatia next summer. Real Madrid's current squad depth could also affect his potential exit.
 
In terms of ownership, billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering making an offer to buy a minority stake in Manchester United, which would allow the Glazer family to retain control. Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim have both expressed interest in acquiring the club, but disagreements over valuation and legal issues have hindered progress. Ratcliffe previously proposed a £5 billion offer, and Sheikh Jassim remains committed to pursuing a full takeover.
 
However, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani still aims to acquire 100 percent of Manchester United and complete a full takeover. Despite Ratcliffe's potential move to purchase a minority stake, the Glazer family has been holding out for a higher valuation, making negotiations challenging. The Glazers have considered a minority investment strategy, similar to Liverpool's approach, to pay off debts.
