Manchester City have completed the signing of highly rated teenage winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City, with the Premier League club confirming Saturday that the 17-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
Monga arrives at the Etihad having made history at Leicester as their youngest-ever starter, and after making his top-flight debut for the Foxes at just 15 years old, fending off interest from several other major clubs to seal his switch to City.
Across his time with Leicester, Monga made 37 appearances for the club. While the exact transfer fee has not been officially confirmed, reports indicate the deal is worth around £10 million ($13 million) including potential add-ons, with his contract running through to 2031.
His arrival makes him the third English player to join Manchester City during the current transfer window, as new head coach Enzo Maresca continues to reshape the squad following the earlier additions of goalkeeper Pierce Charles and club-record signing Elliot Anderson.
Monga's breakthrough into first-team football came under then-Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, when he was introduced as a second-half substitute during a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle in April 2025. He went on to earn his first senior start a few months later, featuring in a League Cup tie against Huddersfield in August 2025.
An England Under-19 international, Monga also holds the distinction of being the third-youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League, ranking behind only Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman on that list.
Reflecting on his move, Monga said that once he learned of Manchester City's interest, he immediately recognized it as the right step for his career, describing the switch as a dream come true given the club's status as English football's most successful side over the past decade.
He also pointed to the club's track record of developing academy talent, citing players like Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly as evidence of a clear pathway to first-team opportunities. Monga expressed pride and excitement at officially becoming part of the club.
