Manchester City Complete £65m Signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton

Manchester City have completed the signing of Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for a deal worth up to £65m. The transfer includes an initial £60m fee plus £5m in potential add-ons, with the 26-year-old signing a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Ndiaye’s move represents a remarkable rise for a player who began his professional career in England’s seventh tier just over six years ago. He later established himself with Sheffield United before spells at Marseille and Everton, where his performances attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Senegal forward had appeared close to joining Tottenham after the London club reached an agreement with Everton. However, the proposed transfer was disrupted by issues surrounding Richarlison’s potential return to Everton, allowing City to step in and secure Ndiaye on deadline day.

Ndiaye becomes another major addition to Manchester City’s squad during an ambitious summer rebuild. His arrival also follows City’s unsuccessful attempt to sign Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, with the club turning to the Senegal international after their £80m offer for the Dutchman was rejected.

The new City signing said the opportunity represents the culmination of years of hard work and expressed his determination to make his mark at one of the world’s biggest clubs. His five-year agreement will keep him at the Etihad until 2031.
