Man United Monitor Real Madrid Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as Summer Transfer Target

Manchester United are monitoring Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as part of their plans to strengthen their midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window. The French international has emerged as one of several options under consideration as the club looks to reinforce a key area of the squad.

After prioritising attacking reinforcements and the goalkeeping position in recent transfer windows, United are now expected to focus heavily on midfield additions at the end of the season. Several Premier League-based players, including Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton, have been linked with the club as part of that strategy, with domestic experience viewed as an advantage following recent successful signings.

However, concerns have been raised about Wharton’s profile, given his similarity to Kobbie Mainoo, who is close to agreeing a new long-term contract at Old Trafford. As a result, United are also assessing overseas targets, with Tchouameni among the standout names on their shortlist.

The 26-year-old joined Real Madrid from Monaco in 2022 after previously attracting interest from Manchester United. Since moving to Spain, he has developed into a key figure in midfield and is widely regarded as one of the top players in his position. His current contract runs until 2028, and Real Madrid are believed to be keen on extending his stay.

However, reports suggest the Spanish club could be open to significant offers following a disappointing season that may end without silverware, potentially opening the door for negotiations.

Meanwhile, United’s financial flexibility is expected to improve with high-earning departures, including Casemiro and Jadon Sancho, freeing up space on the wage bill. There is also ongoing uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future, with Barcelona holding an option to sign him permanently for €30 million before the June deadline.

With Champions League qualification now within reach, United’s summer planning is beginning to take shape as they prepare for a crucial rebuild in midfield and beyond.
