Lobi Stars FC rallies for fan support ahead Katsina United FC's visit

Title contenders, Lobi Stars, have urged their numerous supporters to turn out in large numbers and cheer them on to victory against visiting Katsina United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week 23 fixture on Sunday, March 3, at Lafia City.


Immediately upon returning from Akure after the Week 22 clash against Sunshine Stars, Head Coach Eugene Agagbe and his team have continued to address the lapses noticed in their last match, ensuring they are ready to face Katsina United, who are still reveling in the euphoria of their 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Kano Pillars.


The visiting Katsina United, managed by former Lobi Stars coach Abubakar Bala, have moved up to the seventh place in the standings and are inspired by their last victory to go all out against their hosts for the maximum points.


The two teams met in the first round of the NPFL, and the ‘Yes Father boys’ secured an important away point after playing a goalless draw in Katsina.


Players to watch for the "Shoe Get Size" boys; the trio of Ahmadu Liman, Moses Tsehuan, and Alao Danbani are available and eager to keep the visitors at bay when called upon.


Coach Abubakar Bala, who had a short spell in Makurdi before joining the ‘Chanji Boys’ as Katsina United are fondly called, will unleash the likes of Emmanuel Jonas, the former Lobi Stars duo of Musa Wakili, Hashm Shamsudeen, and combative midfielder Falolu Azzez to lead the line on Sunday.


Although there are no injury worries, John Lazarus, who was sent off on Matchday 22 in Akure, will miss the crunch fixture. However, Suur Kumaga, who limped off the pitch in Akure, has since joined his teammates.


Therefore, the highly anticipated Week 23 tie promises to be a thriller that will keep the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the duration of the match.
