Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club, Simon Terver Ikya, has tasked the team with a good response to their commitment to taking the available slot of the promotion ticket from the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL).
Ikya addressed the players, technical crew, and staff as they resumed training after the disappointing defeat to FC Basira in Lafia.
Visibly displeased, the chairman described the match as a missed turning point, stressing that management has done everything possible to ensure the team’s comfort and smooth operation.
While the head coach, John Onuh, took full responsibility for the loss, the chairman vowed to take his destiny into his own hands, resolved to tighten operations, and demanded a shift in mentality, urging the team to become more ruthless, aggressive, and intentional in their pursuit of promotion.
He challenged the players to speak up on what must be done to turn the tide.
Team captain Solomon Kwambe assured management that the setback is a wake-up call and promised renewed hunger and commitment, while Akile Monday expressed firm belief that the remaining four matches are winnable.
Club Secretary Terzungwe Chugh reminded the squad that promotion has always been the clear agenda, urging them to redouble their efforts and emphasizing that the battle is for the strong.
