Liverpool Ready to Break Transfer Record Again in Pursuit of PSG Star Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are preparing another blockbuster move in the transfer market, with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola emerging as one of the club's leading attacking targets. The Premier League side are reportedly willing to offer around £100 million for the French international, although PSG are believed to value the 23-year-old at close to £145 million, leaving a significant gap in negotiations.

The Reds have already demonstrated their willingness to spend heavily this summer after completing major deals for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Wirtz's transfer from Bayer Leverkusen could eventually rise to £116 million with add-ons, while Isak became Liverpool's record signing following his £125 million arrival from Newcastle United. Another nine-figure transfer for Barcola would underline the club's determination to rebuild its attacking options.

Barcola has developed into one of Europe's most exciting young forwards since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023. During his time in Paris, he has collected multiple domestic trophies while also helping the French champions secure European success. Comfortable on either wing and capable of playing centrally, the pacey attacker has become a valuable member of both PSG and the French national team.

Despite his talent, Barcola has often shared playing time with fellow attacking stars, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué. Increased competition has limited his opportunities to complete full matches, making a move to Anfield an attractive option where he could become a regular starter.

Liverpool's search for another elite attacker has intensified following Mohamed Salah's departure at the end of last season. The Egyptian left the club after an outstanding nine-year spell in which he established himself as one of Liverpool's greatest-ever goalscorers. Injuries have further reduced the club's attacking depth, with Hugo Ekitike expected to miss the remainder of 2026, while Cody Gakpo has also attracted transfer interest despite Liverpool's reluctance to sell.

The club still possesses several attacking options, including youngster Rio Ngumoha, Federico Chiesa and recent signing Victor Munoz, but Barcola is viewed as a player capable of adding world-class quality and versatility to the frontline.

On the international stage, Barcola featured prominently for France at this summer's World Cup, scoring three goals despite competing with fellow PSG star Désiré Doué for a starting place. France manager Didier Deschamps frequently rotated the pair while keeping Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele on the opposite flank, highlighting the depth of attacking talent available to Les Bleus.

Negotiations between Liverpool and PSG are expected to continue, with the Premier League club hoping to reduce the gap between their valuation and the French champions' asking price as they pursue one of Europe's most sought-after young forwards.
