Liverpool, Milan, and Marseille interested in Nigerian-eligible defender

Posted : 19 March 2024

Nigeria-eligible Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo has drawn interest from various clubs inside and outside of England. At 26, he has appeared in fifteen of Fulham's twenty-nine Premier League matches this season, starting thirteen times and scoring once. Partnering with Calvin Bassey in the last five games, they've secured four wins and two clean sheets.

Born in Manchester to Nigerian parents, Adarabioyo is the youngest of three brothers, all involved in football. His elder brother Gbolahan is his agent, while Fisayo retired in 2021 after playing for Ashton United. Despite representing England at youth levels, Adarabioyo remains open to playing for the Super Eagles at the senior level.

With his contract set to expire, clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Olympique De Marseille, Liverpool, and AC Milan are eyeing Adarabioyo, per Daily Mail reports. Although Fulham hopes to secure a new deal, the player intends to explore his options.

Liverpool is seeking to replace Joel Matip, while Tottenham aims to bolster their defensive lineup following Eric Dier's departure to Bayern Munich and Christian Romero's injury concerns. Adarabioyo's height and defensive prowess make him an attractive option for both clubs.

Adarabioyo's teammates at Fulham, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, chose to represent Nigeria over England, indicating a potential influence on Adarabioyo's decision-making process.
