Arne Slot Urges Liverpool to Reproduce Galatasaray Performance Before FA Cup Clash

Arne Slot has challenged his squad to replicate the level of performance they showed in a dominant victory over Galatasaray as they return from the international break.

Liverpool’s impressive 4‑0 win at Anfield in the second leg of their Champions League last‑16 tie, overturning a first‑leg deficit, was followed by a 2‑1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, and Slot wants his side to find that earlier form again ahead of a crucial FA Cup meeting with Manchester City.

Slot admitted injuries to key players in recent fixtures have contributed to inconsistent results, pointing to absences such as goalkeeper Alisson and attacker Mohamed Salah as factors that affected performance levels.

 He stressed that being at their best will be essential, especially given City’s quality and consistency, which the manager acknowledged makes the upcoming match “a very nice game to look forward to”.

Liverpool have also received encouraging news on the fitness front, with record signing Alexander Isak set to rejoin first‑team training this week after nearly four months out with a fractured leg.

Although he may not be ready to start immediately, his return provides a timely boost in a demanding period for Slot’s squad as they balance cup competitions and their bid for European qualification.
