Liverpool Agree £123m Deal to Sign PSG Star Bradley Barcola

Posted : 29 August 2026

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of France international Bradley Barcola in a deal that could rise to £123 million. The package consists of an initial £106m payment, with a further £17m available through add-ons.

The 23-year-old is expected to undergo his medical in Liverpool this weekend before completing a long-term move to Anfield. The winger has already agreed personal terms and is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

PSG had initially placed a £145m valuation on Barcola, but Liverpool managed to negotiate a lower guaranteed fee after lengthy discussions. The France forward had also been reluctant to extend his current contract, which has two years remaining.

Barcola is primarily a left winger but can operate on the right or through the centre, giving Liverpool greater flexibility in attack. His arrival is expected to strengthen a forward line that has undergone significant changes following the departures of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

The Frenchman has enjoyed considerable success since moving to PSG from Lyon in 2023. During his time in Paris, he has helped the club win three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions League trophies and two French Cups, among other honours. He also scored three goals for France during this summer's World Cup.

His move could have implications for Cody Gakpo's future at Liverpool. The Netherlands international has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, although Liverpool have previously indicated that they would prefer to keep him.

Barcola's versatility could also prove valuable while Hugo Ekitike recovers from his Achilles injury, potentially giving Liverpool another attacking option alongside Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

For PSG, the transfer represents a substantial financial return on a player they signed from Lyon for a reported £38.5m in 2023. Barcola's reduced role in Paris following the emergence of Désiré Doué and the arrival of additional attacking options has helped pave the way for his departure.

Liverpool are not expected to stop their recruitment after securing Barcola. The club remain interested in adding another right winger, having previously explored moves for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace's Ismaïla Sarr.

The transfer would make Barcola Liverpool's second-most expensive signing, behind only Alexander Isak, and represents another major statement of intent under head coach Andoni Iraola.
