Lamine Yamal Shines as Spain Crush Croatia 4-1 in Nations League

Spain celebrated their first home match since winning the World Cup with a commanding 4-1 victory over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, with Lamine Yamal producing another outstanding display. The Barcelona winger scored twice and provided an assist as La Roja maintained their perfect start to Group A3.

Yamal needed only 70 seconds to put Spain ahead, continuing his impressive scoring form after also opening the scoring in Saturday's 3-2 victory over England at Wembley. His early strike gave Spain control before Croatia responded through Dion Beljo, who headed in an Ivan Perisic cross in the 28th minute.

Spain quickly regained the lead three minutes later. Yamal delivered a precise cross into the area, allowing Marc Pubill to power a header beyond Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and restore the hosts' advantage.

Yamal added his second goal in the 63rd minute after receiving a pass from Pedri before finding the net from a tight angle. Nico Williams then completed the scoring late in the match, securing a convincing victory for the world champions.

The result extended Spain's unbeaten run to 40 matches and marked their second consecutive Nations League victory. Captain Rodri also presented the World Cup trophy to the home supporters before kick-off after receiving it from Spain legend Jesús Navas.

Yamal's performance further enhanced the attention surrounding his Ballon d'Or candidacy, with voting already closed and the award ceremony scheduled for October 26. Spain will return to Nations League action against the Czech Republic on Saturday.
