The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga officially presented the calendar for the upcoming 2025–26 season during an event in San Juan de la Nava, Ávila. The LaLiga EA SPORTS campaign will begin on the weekend of 17 August 2025 and wrap up on 24 May 2026. Meanwhile, the LaLiga HYPERMOTION season will conclude on 31 May 2026.
A highlight of the announcement is the confirmation of the season’s marquee fixtures. The first ElClasico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will take place on Matchday 10 during the weekend of 26 October at the Santiago Bernabéu, with the reverse fixture scheduled for Matchday 35 on 10 May at Camp Nou.
ElDerbi de Madrid will see Atlético Madrid host Real Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Matchday 7, the weekend of 28 September, before the return clash at the Bernabéu on 22 March. The fiercely contested Seville Derby is slated for 30 November at Sevilla FC’s Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, with the return match at Real Betis’ home ground on 1 March.
Other notable rivalries include the Basque Derby between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, set for 2 November in San Sebastián and 1 February in Bilbao. The Barcelona Derby will be contested on 4 January at RCDE Stadium, with the return leg at Spotify Camp Nou on 12 April. Meanwhile, the Valencia Derby between Valencia CF and Levante UD is scheduled for 23 November and 15 February at Mestalla and Ciutat de València, respectively.
The 2025–26 LaLiga season promises high-stakes action and classic rivalries, with fans already circling the dates for some of football’s most iconic matchups.
