Lagos will host eight clubs at the 2026 Lagos Supremacy Cup from Nov. 9 to 12, as organisers seek to provide a platform for grassroots football talent discovery.
The competition, themed “United by Passion, Crowned by Glory,” will take place at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, with matches scheduled daily between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Participating teams are 36 Lion FC, Beyond Limits FA, Atlantic Selected FC, Collins Edwin FC, Edo Selected FC, Ikorodu City FC, Badagry Selected FC, and Bariga Stars FC.
Organisers said the tournament would provide emerging players with opportunities to attract attention from scouts while enabling participating clubs to assess their competitiveness against quality opposition.
The competition typically attracts at least eight international scouts, offering young footballers an opportunity to showcase their abilities before talent evaluators.
The tournament is being organised by 36 Lion Investment Limited in partnership with Diamond Sports Management, Elenko Sports, International Football Management and Marketing (IFMM), alongside other stakeholders committed to youth football development.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, Wale Joseph said the competition was designed to strengthen grassroots football by providing clubs with a competitive environment to demonstrate their potential.
“This represents far more than a standard tournament. As the epicentre of Nigerian football, Lagos deserves to reclaim its championship status,” Joseph said.
He added that the competition would increase players’ visibility, help clubs measure their standing, and provide spectators with four days of exciting football.
“The Supremacy Cup will offer emerging athletes visibility, enable clubs to measure their competitive standing, and deliver four days of exceptional football entertainment. Our collective passion will lead us to glory,” he said.
