Kwara United head coach Suleiman Ashifat has expressed strong confidence in his side as they gear up for their 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 13 encounter against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
The Harmony Boys will head to the El-Kanemi Stadium on Sunday following their hard-earned 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United in Lafia. Ashifat believes the result provides a positive boost for his players as they seek another impressive away performance.
“Our next game is away to El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri, and the result in Lafia is good for the team. We will give our all to get the maximum points against El-Kanemi,” Ashifat said.
Last season, both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the same fixture, with Risilanu Ismail scoring for El-Kanemi and Emmanuel Ogbole equalising for Kwara United.
El-Kanemi Warriors, currently 14th on the NPFL table, enter the match with just one win in their last five outings, accompanied by three losses and a draw. They will be eager to turn their fortunes around in front of their home fans.
Kwara United sit 9th on the log and remain unbeaten in their last five matches, boasting two wins and three draws. Their recent form includes a morale-boosting victory over defending champions Remo Stars FC.

With both teams seeking crucial points, Sunday’s match in Maiduguri promises a fiercely contested showdown as Kwara United aim for another away victory.
