Fresh from their victory in Matchday 28 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in Abeokuta, Kwara United Football Club is taking the winning spirit to Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina, where they will face Katsina United in a Matchday 29 encounter on Sunday.
The Harmony Boys head into the game with renewed vigour as the team is boosted by the return of Ini Emmanuel and Jimoh Gbadamosi to the squad.
However, Babatunde Bright is still recuperating from injury, while Gidado Toheeb, who has been outstanding in recent outings, is unavailable due to fatigue.
Head coach Ashifat Suleiman had earlier vowed to fight for the remaining 33 points available in the league, and the team has already secured the first three points of that target with last weekend’s victory over Wikki Tourists in Abeokuta.
Katsina United currently sit ninth on the NPFL table after overcoming earlier struggles and a temporary banishment to Ilorin earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, Kwara United are battling to swim out of the relegation zone, making Sunday’s clash a potentially explosive contest expected to produce intense action from start to finish.
The Harmony Boys have already arrived in Katsina and settled into their hotel, where they will acclimatize to the weather conditions.
The team is expected to have their final training session on Saturday, which will also give them the opportunity to feel the pitch at Mohammed Dikko Stadium.
Kwara United will be aiming to consolidate their winning momentum as they continue their quest for survival and revival in the NPFL this season.
