Kwara United Set to Unveil 10 New Signings for 2026/27 NPFL Campaign

Kwara United will unveil 10 new players this week as part of preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, club chairman Kumbi Titiloye has confirmed.

Titiloye made the announcement after featuring for the All Stars team in a novelty match organised to celebrate the ACC 50-50 birthday event. He said the new arrivals are expected to strengthen the squad ahead of what promises to be another competitive NPFL campaign.

According to the chairman, the recruitment drive is aimed at building a stronger and more balanced team capable of competing for higher positions in the league. He expressed confidence that the incoming players have the quality to make an immediate impact.

"We are bringing in 10 new players, and they will be unveiled this week. The objective is to strengthen the team and ensure we have a squad capable of competing favourably in the new season," Titiloye said.

He added that the new signings are well equipped to replace players who have left the club. Their technical ability, sharpness and work rate, he noted, give the coaching staff confidence that the squad will remain competitive.

"Those players are good enough to replace the departed ones. Their sharpness, quality and urgency on the ball make them capable replacements, and we are confident they will add value to the team," he added.

Titiloye also expressed optimism that Kwara United can improve on last season's performance. He credited the club's stability to the continued support of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq through the Kwara State Sports Commission, describing the backing as vital to the team's development.

The club's ambition is to rebuild a compact and competitive squad capable of returning to the level that saw Kwara United finish consistently among the top five teams in the NPFL several seasons ago. Management believes the latest recruitment is an important step towards achieving that objective.

On the National Sports Commission's proposal to introduce a ₦2 million minimum monthly salary for NPFL players, Titiloye declined to comment on behalf of club owners. He explained that the matter would be discussed collectively during the forthcoming Annual General Meeting before an official position is adopted.

The chairman also reassured supporters that adequate security arrangements would be in place throughout the season. He said the club would continue working closely with the Kwara State Football Association and relevant security agencies to provide a safe environment for players, officials and fans during home matches.
