Kwara United Football Club will look to bounce back from their draw against Shooting Stars as they prepare for their Match Day 15 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) against debutants Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Sunday.
The Harmony Boys have shown renewed commitment since the stalemate with 3SC, returning to training the following day to intensify preparations for the crucial encounter. Their efforts are further strengthened by the return of key players previously sidelined by injury, including Akanni Akeem and Yahaya Ibrahim. However, Gidado, Shola Abdulraheem, Aliu Salaudeen, Olarewaju AbdulRahman, and Issa Gata remain unavailable.
Head Coach Ashifat Suleiman reaffirmed his determination to make up for the points dropped at home and expressed confidence in a positive outcome on Sunday, especially with the return of important squad members.
“Players showed strong determination during training, responding positively to instructions from the technical crew as they jostled for places in the final matchday squad,” Suleiman said.
Kwara United currently sit 12th on the NPFL log with 18 points from 14 matches, while Barau FC occupy 19th position with 13 points, also from 14 matches.
Barau FC will welcome their fans back to the stadium after a period of playing behind closed doors, a move that could boost their morale. However, the Harmony Boys remain unshaken, having previously secured valuable points at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Supporters of Kwara United back home will also have the opportunity to watch the match live, as the Office of the SSA (Special Duties) to the Club Chairman has finalized arrangements to stream the game via NPFL Live from the FA office.
