Kwara United FC have advanced to the final of the 2026 Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament in Katsina after overcoming Nasarawa United 2-0 in a well-controlled semi-final encounter.
The Harmony Boys produced a decisive late first-half breakthrough when Abdussalam Abdussalam fired Kwara United ahead in the 45th minute, giving his side a narrow advantage at the interval.
Kwara United wasted little time extending their lead after the restart, with Aliyu Muhammad doubling the advantage in the 47th minute to put the Harmony Boys firmly in command.
The two-goal cushion allowed Kwara United to adopt a more measured approach, with the team controlling possession and managing the tempo as Nasarawa United searched for a way back into the contest.
The Solid Miners increased the pressure in the latter stages, particularly after the hydration break, but Kwara United maintained their defensive discipline and composure to preserve their advantage until the final whistle.
The victory puts Kwara United in the final, where they will aim to complete their impressive run in the Katsina pre-season tournament by lifting the championship trophy.
