Kwara United Queens Use Barca Kiddies Friendly to Fine-Tune Preparations

Kwara United Queens continued their build-up to their forthcoming competition with a competitive friendly outing against Barca Kiddies U-15 boys, losing 4-2 on Wednesday at the Funmi Focus School Field, Eyekorin.

The encounter provided the Courageous Queens with another valuable opportunity to assess their readiness, as both teams produced an entertaining contest filled with intensity, determination and attacking football.

Barca Kiddies made a bright start and took the lead in the 11th minute before adding a second goal shortly before halftime.

Kwara United Queens responded through Tony Gift, whose strike before the interval reduced the deficit and kept her side in contention heading into the break.

The hosts extended their advantage after the restart with two quick goals before the hour mark to move into a commanding 4-1 lead.

Seeking a response, the Kwara United Queens technical crew introduced a number of substitutions, strengthening the midfield and improving the team's overall balance.

The changes had the desired effect as the visitors enjoyed better spells of possession and created more attacking opportunities.

Their improved display was rewarded when Amarachi finished from close range after reacting quickest to a well-delivered cross from Shittu Mariam to make it 4-2.

Although the Courageous Queens continued to press for additional goals in the closing stages, Barca Kiddies remained resolute defensively to preserve their advantage.

Kwara United Queens will return to training on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. as preparations continue for their upcoming competition.

Despite the defeat, the friendly provided the coaching staff with valuable insights into the team's progress and areas for improvement as the Courageous Queens continue their preparations for the challenges ahead.
